2.1 Rewrite the following sentences after the model.
Model 1: you help ensure that people will eat the foods that are good for them.
你在帮助确保人们吃上有益于他们的食物。
在英语种如果两个动词连用他们中间必须有动词不定式“to”, 比如：…ask … todo …” or “…decides to do…”; 然而， “help” 后面既可以省略动词不定式 “to” 也可以带动词不定式 “to”; 后者更强调帮助的目的是为了什么；但如果是被动句, “help” 和另一动词之间的 “to” 不能被省略。

2.2 “while” as a conjunction has more than one meaning. It may mean “when” (当…的时
候), “whereas” (…然而 / 虽然…但是), and “at the same time when” (与此同时…).
Exercise: Read the following sentences and then translate them into Chinese.
1) The tomatoes are cut into large wedges, while the onions and peppers are bite-sized.
2) While he was in Canada, he met a beautiful girl and they got married.
3) While I like the color of this jacket, I don’t like its style.
4) John was chatting online, while the children were playing outside.
